What can I do with this lot? Shocked I've just been given it and on first glance it seems to include 2 A4000s 1 A3000 and a million boards with 060 and Cyberstorm and suchlike on them........ Laughing Cool Shocked

Not so long ago, I could only dream of owning such a machine, never mind 3 or 4 of them!

Just for the sake of nostalgia, I'd like to make my dream uber-Amiga machine. The likes of which I always dreamed of back in the day.

A certain N.Veitch has a lot to answer for regarding my Amiga obsession: after all, he fuelled it for 50 odd issues of Amiga Format Cool

Well, I would pick out the best bits, maybe keep a spare set, and ebay the rest.
Accelerator cards in particular go for quite a healthy price.
(incidentally, if there is an 060 for an A1200 in there, I might be interested- I have an 040 A1200 with 32MB and a 4Gb hdd in a tower, running on my home network)

don't get involved building one unless you have the time and patience i'm trying to build a pc out of various old bits people have given me, and it's nowhere near as easy as building one with all the bits new Rolling Eyes in fact my dining room looks not unlike the picture you've shown Very Happy

Oh I give up. Why am I not surprised that you can't build a PC out of old components. I don't suppose it has occurred to you to check whether the bits you are trying to put together are compatible? Rolling Eyes

I've built loads of PCs out of donated parts. I find it therapeutic. The Amiga tower project is proving to be a real headache already Rolling Eyes

I don't suppose the melrose in your location line is the one in Minnesota--about 45 minutes from me. I'd love to take a look at melding them together. I've never laid hands on an Amiga in my life. (I was an Atari guy back in the day.) I've built dozens of PCs and rebuilt a couple Macs so I'd love the challenge. (I'm still quite proud of a refurbished 9100AV Nubus Mac I rebuilt.)

But I'm guessing the melrose in which you live has more culture than the Melrose I know--whose chief source of culture is Earl's Bar.

LOL the Melrose I'm in is 40 minutes south of Edinburgh Scotland. World rugby capital and home to the Eildon Hills and Melrose Abbey

Yeah, that would be a bit more than a 45 minute road trip. Smile

I'm going to miss meeting up at Earl's Bar, though. I'm always looking for reasons to go to Earl's Bar.

Incidently, the nearest town to me is 4 miles away and it's called Earlston.

Spooky!
