KDE 3.5.3 is out, and should be at a mirror near you soon.
Of note in this release (as far as I'm concerned, anyway) is that the hugely (immensely, vastly) irritating Ignore User-Selected View Mode bug in konqueror has finally been squashed. If that's not occasion to get completely plastered, stand on a table, and sing at the top of one's voice, I don't know what is. |

| I hadn't realised until last Friday, when I decided to do some updating on my SUSE10, that my usual "update_for_10.0/yast-source" wasn't valid anymore (I've been too busy playing around with other distros). Anyway, I discovered the new repository and have 3.5.3 happily installed now. |

For many years now I'm a Gnome fan, but I have to admit that KDE is a great DE. I'm working with it on OpenSUSE and the moment and I'm truly impressed by Konqueror and Kmail.
It's great to see the progress of Linux on the desktop front. |

That's good timing, it looks like 3.5.4 is about to be released (it's been in Gentoo's portage for about a week, ready for the release). _________________ Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who it's friends are. |

Suse testing packages for 3.5.4 just came down the line, so it can't be long now...... which might be bad timing, well ok its all good, but Slackware is soooo close to being released Im not sure if Pat would change the KDE version this close to release, shame, but at least 5.3 has been reasonably stable and had most of the really annoying bugs fixed (except Ark). _________________ I think, therefore I compile |

The latest 3.5.4 packages from SuSE appear to fix a bug with Kwalletmanager that I had noticed with their earlier test release (the one they withdrew). No other problems... so far. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

I sent an email to Pat at 22:30, and got a reply marked as 22:10, which is proof (if it were needed) that he is indeed psychic.
Not to mention, on the release of KDE being immanent, he said "Tomorrow", which again proves that _the man_ is psychic......damnit, I forgot to ask the lottery numbers
He also said I was insane, which is nice _________________ I think, therefore I compile |
