Would you subscribe to microsoft onecare?

I find it absolutely ridiculous that are computers are unsafe and microsoft are offering such products. why the hell cant they provide it for free? afterall, if it would help their reputation then it would benefit them!!!!
why dont they? why? because they are a greedy, monopolistic, money orientted company.

yes, they want to make huge profit, but why cant they help themselves by helping us?

maybe if they were more in to developement rather than distribution, they would not have to have days like'patch tuesday'

to say bill gates dosnt want to be the richest man, what the hell is he doing with Microsoft? making it more and more profitable and dominant - taking advantage of this! creating more legal problems for them - with adobe

end of rant!!

Trouble is, they're between a rock and a hard place at the moment. If they don't provide something like Onecare, they get it in the neck for providing an insecure operating system. If they provide it for free, they get antitrust & monopolistic complaints from the likes of Symantec & McAffee (no matter that the market for those companies' products only exists because MS didn't provide protection in the first place !).

Yup, it's a rock and a hard place of their own making, but it's difficult to see a way out that doesn't land them in it somewhere along the line Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

It could be easily solved if they made a half-decent operating system Rolling Eyes

Solved? You only solve problems. Microsoft don't regard increased revenue as a problem.

The other reason is that most people accept that bugs, flaws and security issues are standard. And they accept that they have to pay a third party to protect the system.

*nix has a great many security issues too.
