Hard Links warning

Postby SimonRobert » Sat May 28, 2005 9:45 am

I have installed Mandriva and now get the following message when I do a "find". What does it mean? It doesn't seem to cause any problems, but I'd like to solve it. This didn't happen with the mandrake 10.1 I had previously, (I did a full install, not an upgrade).

Thanks
Simon

find: WARNING: Hard link count is wrong for /proc: this may be a bug in your filesystem driver. Automatically turning on find's -noleaf option. Earlier results may have failed to include directories that should have been searched.

It appears to be a kernel bug and patches have been submitted. However, the error message may still occur due to the dynamic nature of the /proc filesystem.
In any event, it's not critical if that's what you are worried about.

Must be you 1sf (troll), my Mandriva hasn't crashed after any updates. I don't think it's just because I have the club edition :P

Especially as the version on the DVD is basically the club edition :)
