Hi
I just been trying out the Xandros OS 3 Open Circulation Edition and discoverd there is no firewall, what sort of a Company ships a OS without a one. Oops! sorry Microsoft forgot about you.
Well they did say they wanted to make it Windows compatibale.
Still apart from that it's not bad, not as good as Mepis but not bad.
Regards to all.

At home we have a seperate firewall, running IPCop, not sure the differences but assume a dedicated firewall distro will be more secure then one chuck onto of the OS. _________________ My knowledge comes with no warranty...........

Can you clarify, do you mean no firewall at all or no gui to get at the firewall? AFAIK, all kernels since 2.2.x have firewalling capability. It just isn't going to be a few clicks to set it up from the cli.

Hi Erin
I meen no firewall, I tried to install Guarddog but recieved a error message saying (No Firewall cannot continue), and when I checked on the web site I found you have to pay extra for one, unless you buy the full version.
I have a router with a built in firewall so it was not a big issue, just annoying, i have since installed Mandriva from the LXF cover DVD, I must say i'm very impresed,(and it comes with a firewall).
Regards to all.
