Does anyone know how I can mount an ISO file in Windows 7? The file is too big for me to burn to DVD (over 6GB).

There are lots of "recommended" tools for Windows, but I trust them about as much as I trust a politician.

Back in the day I used to use Deamon Tools Lite and Virtual Clone Drive from Slysoft.

2nd PP and DTL

Failing not trusting Windows tools, can you get your hands on a dual layered DVD, you can burn upto 8gb.

You could mount or extract it in your fav distro and copy over to Windows or to an external drive. As it can be extracted maybe it might be possible to use zip / rar or 7z in Win7 these days.

And if you have the Nero suite one of the apps in it will mount .iso images.

Enjoy the Choice Smile

I use something, which I believe is a tool provided with Win7, to mount CD iso files. It is WinArchiver Virtual Drive. I suggest you hunt for it, as I've forgotten how I got hold of it, and it doesn't give many clues when running.

I've been using it long enough to remember that you have then to run it, when it appears as a parcelled box in the tray which can be used to mount/unmount the required iso files.

I'm glad you're happy with Daemon Tools - I wouldn't touch it with the proverbial, after it made a real mess of one system some years back.
