I use Gimp 2.8 and wish to make composite pictures. Please find me some tutorials.

You may be better using Hugin.

I have also used Xfig very successfully for making composite pictures; it depends on how much sophistication you want in the way the you compose the pictures.

Either way there appears to be a fair amount of info out there. Good old Gimp!
