Is the title of an article in New Scientist 13 Jul 2013, page 6.

There is a new language ¨Quipper¨, developed from Haskell, and using which the developers are apparently developing killer apps for the first generation of Quantum Computers. vide (arxiv.org/abs/1304.3390).

Our own Juliet Kemp wrote an article in LXF172, page 100 entitled ¨Getting started with Haskell¨.

So now we all where to go to get further, I wonder how long it will be until someone releases Quipper for PI......

Best

When someone straps a PI to a cat in a box?

Of course, the question is ¨is the cat alive or dead?¨.

Seems to be some uncertainty about it all.....

Best regards

Sadly a Pi is a bit like a cake, you can't have it and eat it.

The benefit of a quantum PI is that you will be able to both have it and eat it, or neither.

Except, you can't make Pi a quantum computer just by loading a quantum programming language onto it, any more than you can make a cat breathe water by feeding it fish.

...

...

...

And before you ask, no, not even fish cakes.

As I see it, the computer will control the specialist (laser?) equipment that will carry out the entanglement or other mediations to the various particles in the system in order to enable the quantum computing to take place.

The computer is an intermediary between particles and lasers, and is not, of itself a quantum computer.

Any way, why Haskell? I tho´t he was a rugby player....

Oh, right. I suppose it would help if I read the abstract first.
