Now you can add the wonderfully named RoomotrureTit to the list of those to delete. Can't the repeated use of the same name be stopped, or has this functionality gone the way of all the other features? _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

Yes it can, but it's an extra step. You delete the user then go to another page to add the name to the disallowed list. I'm not sure it actually helps as they'd just use the next name on their list.
I'd prefer to be able to set things so that a users first posts were moderated. _________________ "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." (Albert Einstein) |

Perhaps set up a phpBB3 forum to check its functionality, then migrate this phpBB2 board, that has an EoL of ions ago, to the new forum There even is a migration tool available for the early 3.x series (from 2.x), dunno if it's still available now it has reached version 3.6 (and up)....
Go on Nelz, you know you want to upgrade! |

Another forum I admin on uses more steps in the registration process with multiple easy to answer questions. Questions are changed every few months. People get past them to spam, but bots get caught. We've found that most spammers get accounts set up months beforehand, then post a ton of posts to accounts all over the place.
Most of the people I ban are posting to unused accounts set up 6 months or more ago, before we started trapping bots with the questions. _________________ AMD PHENOM II X6, 14 GB DDR3, 500 GB hd, 1GB nVidia card, running Linux Mint 14 KDE / Win 7. Damn thing keeps breaking.

I would mention seuusbrirutf, if it's worth it.
Really, just look at the latest lot of joiners and delete the lot if they have no surviving posts to their name. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

This is getting pretty ridiculous. Perhaps it is finally time to change the registration policies of this site. _________________ AMD PHENOM II X6, 14 GB DDR3, 500 GB hd, 1GB nVidia card, running Linux Mint 14 KDE / Win 7. Damn thing keeps breaking.
