Truncate? Help!

Postby stratotommie » Tue Jul 31, 2012 7:58 pm

I have taken over a position where I am a web designer but now I am expected to know how to do things I have never learned how to do. I need some help and am hoping that someone here can help me out.

The note I have from the previous web developer says:

"Every once in a while, truncate .jos_sobi2_plugin_sef and refresh the listing page (many many times) to regenerate the SEF links."

I have no idea what this means but I do know the previous web developer used bash 99.9% of the time to do his work so I am a bit lacking in knowing how to proceed.

Any help someone could give me would be appreciated. Thanks.

The truncate man page will explain what the command does but not, unfortunately, what the note means. Do you not have access to the scripts he used?
