I have tried to use Banshee to upload music to my ipod shuffle, it does load the music but when I come to use the ipod there is this American voice telling me to synchronise the ipod with their software.
I can use a virtual machine but I dont want to. How do I get music onto the ipod via Linux and stil be able to play the music. |

| Do I need to change the format of the music? At the moment it is generally mp3. |

Very strange you are getting the voice
I use a classic IPod 120GB. I connected the Ipod to my PC, it sees it as a remote drive. I deleted everything off it. My music was backed up in my music file on the PC. Opened Banshee, imported music, then synced ipod. Done.
Now on Ubuntu 12.04, I am using Rhythmebox instead of Banshee (default music player). Done the same and all fine. Apart from Rhythmbox didn't import album artwork, buts thats a different story. |

When you say deleted everything. Do you mean all the directories as well |
