Running Ubuntu 12.04 64bit, does anyone have a resolution greater than 1024x768 using the inbuilt graphics of an intel cpu?

You might want to supply more details about your graphics hardware.

Code:
/sbin/lspci -nnk

Open a terminal and note what is reported by the 'xrandr' command.

It is also useful to examine the contents of var/log/Xorg.0.log for any errors.

The graphics are HD4000 from an i5-3570k processor (ivy bridge).

I know the processor and monitor can handle higher resolutions as I have got them to work under windows 7. But I want to use this machine ad purely linux.

And it is possible that your monitor is not recognized properly so you may have to play with Xorg.config.

Enjoy the Choice Smile

Just came to the same conclusion as I have just noticed that in system settings > display it says the display is laptop. Only just seen that.

Now all I have to do is find the spec for the monitor.
