Hello,
Is there any software that allows to send and receive faxes without any charge?

Key to a fax being a fax is the use of a phone line. If you don't send the message via a faxmachine connected to a phone line, it's not a fax Razz

So no, you can't cut out the phone line from a fax Rolling Eyes

When the OP said with no charge, I assumed he meant free software.
Actually, you can fax without a phone line.
There is internet faxing, which basically involves an iFax capable fax machine scanning a page, converting it into a TIFF encoded email, and sending it via the internet to another (iFax capable) fax machine, which prints it out.
Mainly used by big business, although scan to email has largely replaced it.

While it is not fax, the fastest way to send a document would be via email, skype, or using an FTP. wyliecoyoteuk, could you provide some more information about iFax? I havent heard of it up to now! Personally, I use rapidfax

Most larger office MFDs support iFax, simply because they already have scanner, mail server, network and printer capability.
In fact most of them run BSD or Linux, and have large hard disks.

iFax is basically just one MFD scanning pages and emailing them to another machine which prints them out.

Faxes are dying out, as most people no longer want a printout, especially junk faxes.
Many of the MFDs I install are setup to forward incoming faxes as PDFs to an email address or a shared folder on a server.
