Hi. I am trying to set up an a machine with fedora 14. All was working well except that when I installed Google Earth it couldn't recognise my video card which was an old Gainward GF4MX440-SE. G.Earth used GL emulation but was so slow as to be unusable.Since this card is not supported by the current Nvidia linux drivers I replaced it with a spare Nvidia Quadro FX 1100 which is supported. I then used Yumex to download the driver appropriate for my kernel (2.6.35.14-106.fc14.i686). Originally I did not have an /etc/X11/x11.conf file but used the nvidia facility to make one. I now have a "nVidia Xserver settings" option in the menu, This shows all the things I expect except those normally shown on the "OpenGL/GLXinformation" page. All I can see there are the "Frame buffer configurations". The Quadro card is correctly identified. The x11.conf file shows the nvidia driver as being in use and lsmod shows the nvidia module.
"Kinfocentre-Xserver-xserver information"---shows NV-GLX, NV-control, GLX and sgi-GLX. so why can Google Earth and the OpenGL tab in Kinfocentre not find it?
More importantly how can I fix it?

Hi. Not good to answer ones own posts but it may help others. After much googling I found a recommendation to add the following lines to the files section of my xorg.conf file:-
Module Path "/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia"
ModulePath "/usr/lib/xorg/modules"
I did this using Dolphin in SU mode and Bingo! OpenGL now works.
