As a newbie I'd like to know how I can copy the System Rescue CD to its own disc.

Copy the sysrcd directory from the DVD to your hard drive (because it needs to be written to) then run

Code:
mkisofs -rdlJ -boot-load-size 4 -no-emul-boot -boot-info-table -b isolinux/isolinux.bin -c isolinux/boot.cat -o sysrescd.iso sysrcd


Then copy the resulting ISO to a CD in the usual way.
