Discussion topics, Linux related - not requests for help

I've been unfortunate enough to have my pc infected by a virus on 2 or 3 occasions over the past 12 months or so (no I didn't open any attachments, or download anything "dodgy or use p2p). After yet another visit to the local pc shop, I decided enough was enough and that it was time to take a more active interest in the pc.
I've just loaded Ubuntu 11.10 alongside XP as a dual boot system (might need to keep some windows docs/programs) though I'm still stumbling my way around it at the min.
Just saying hello - I'm sure I'll have lots of questions in the coming few weeks!
