Much tho´ I have enjoyed LXF 143/4 I feel a newer issue coming on.

Is it in the psot or have LXF forgotten to pay DHL to deliver?

Best

Still no copies of 145/6.

This is a real disgrace.

No wonder Haakin is likely to end his sub this year.

So am I - after 10 years!

Normal deliveries here are via DHL. They also convey my weekly New Scientist - like clockwork. Could it be that they have not been paid?

Katy has said she will resend the missing copies, as she did with 143 and 144 last time.

Best

I realise the sense of frustration - been in the same position for a mag from the States (the senders have finally emailed me that they'll airmail the latest missing, and put me on priority mailing).

I've just rec'd LXF 147 here in UK

I received mine yesterday, which was an improvement on LXF146 which didn't arrive until 26th May, the same day the issue went on general sale. Isn't it about time LXF dropped their promotional blurb about UK subscribers receiving their copy up to a week before it hits the shops? It seems to me that more and more now this target is rarely met.

The Feedback section of New Scientist often has pieces mentioning the "up to", "at least" and "not less than" phrases. If you receive the magazine at all, it can still be up to a week early, it just isn't "at least" a week early. Wink

Rhakios

The operative words would appear to be ¨if you receive...¨

I should be so lucky!

I think I have mentioned before in the forum that I am not so bothered about when exactly my copy arrives - I am simply happy to get it at the reduced price. But I do think it is time to stop misleading people with all this "up to a week before" business. I can't recall a single instance since I have been a subscriber (which I have been for many years now) when I have actually received a copy of LXF a whole week before the general Thursday publication date. Normally I used to receive it on the Saturday before but recently this has slipped to the Tuesday or Wednesday or even to the day of general sale itself!

Still, there has never been an occasion when I have not received my copy - unlike some forum members such as David here. Very, very frustrating for them and also poor Katy. It is all the more unfortunate because the members of the LXF team produce such a fantanstic magazine each month (I really don't know how they manage to churn out such quality content every four weeks) and are then let down by the delivery system. In the last, oh what is it... eleven years? I have failed to receive a copy five or six times (once a copy which I'd resorted to buying at the newsagent turned up, very battered, two months late).
Usually, calling the subs helpline has got me the copy replaced, though they also offer to extend the subscription by a month if you can go out and get your own copy. Not sure how that works with quarterly DD, but I reckon if I did cancel my subscription, I'd be due another quarter after my last payment had run out.

Hi All,

Sorry just catching up on Linux Format subscription comments.

Point taken about subscribers 'not getting their copies a week before the onsale date'. The reason we say this is because all subscriber copies leave our mailing house a week before the onsale date but despite this due to delivery issues it doesn't seem like they are arriving any earlier. As it is proving misleading we will remove this from the 'subscriber benefits' we mention in any subscription promotion.

As always any problems you are having with your subscription just drop me an email (katy.holman@futurenet.com) or call our customer services team on 0844 848 2852.

Thanks,
Katy

´Course it helps if your sub has not lapsed as mine had done.

I have subbed again for 2 yrs and normal service should now return.

My apologies to all for the the trouble caused.
