I found the opposite for me.. Kubuntu installs fine on my rig, but really wanted to Give Mint KDE a go..

Installed fine, But whenever I tried to run any of the software centers (mints, USC or Muon) they would load then immeadiatley crash.

Installed it 3 time on created partions, kept happening..so gave up.

Kubuntu won, but it kept crashing during the manual partitioning, so I went for Mint in the end.

I'm about to do a full reinstall later tonight. I need to add another 50GB to my win7 partition for games because I keep running out, so I may as well reinstall fully. What is your opinion on my choice of OS?

Should I install Kubuntu 12.04 or Mint KDE 12? I prefer Mint, but it's about to be replaced with Mint 13, and the KDE release may be someway off.

Or is there a debian based KDE distro you think I should try?

Please don't bother voting if you only want to do so to express your preference for Gnome or Cinnamon etc. Feel free to say so, but keep it out of the vote count please.
