1) What do you do for a living?
Tattoist also work as a graphic designer hopefully starting my own bmx clothes company

2) And do you get to use computers during the working day?
Never off them

3) If 2) is yes, doing what?
Art work mostly,and the usual email/web browsing for crap

4) Do you do any coding?
nope

5) Any language preference?
n/a
6) If 4) is yes why?

7) Or, finally, are you purely a computer user?
well if its the basics..yes

2) not really, sometimes
3)keeping the country safe so we can all sleep in our beds at night- part-time maintenance engineer
4)not since i discovered i'm quite good at internet poker and i'm learning guitar

Technical consultant

2) And do you get to use computers during the working day?
9 to 5, except meetings

3) If 2) is yes, doing what?
The day job: Currently Project communications, Wiki guru, tech authoring, trying to insinuate OSS into Government Departments and surrounding office work.

4) Do you do any coding?
wikitext/html/css if those count.

5) Any language preference?
panscript

6) If 4) is yes why?
wiki templates and related eye candy.

7) Or, finally, are you purely a computer user?
No.

1) Software tester / Software test engineer

2) Yes

3) Using a whole medley of apps and tools for logging, reporting, testing etc...

4) Yes, in my own time. I did get an interview for an in house programming position at the same company, but didn't get it.

5) Depends on the programming task. (Since so many of you are playing the spoken language card I'm going to add Latin because it's so nice. I kind of suck at it though because I have to learn Finnish)

6) Some people do crosswords. I try to program.

7) No. I guess if I program them, then I am a kind of a creator as well.

2) Yes

3) If 2) programmering and other tasks related to software development.

4) Yes.

5) Most experienced with C++. I also like Ada, some experience with Java and I also look into Python at the moment.

6) If 4) Its my job and I also like it a lot so I do it in my spare time as well.

7) Not sure what this means but I use my computer for many things. I consider programming to be "using" as well.

1) IT Technician in a secondary school

2) Yes

3) Everything - workstation for: helpdesk, email, internet, remote access tools, DTP, coding.

4) Yes, sometimes - web mainly (Classic ASP (yuck), PHP, Javascript, C#, AutoIt, Windows batch, Perl, Bash)

5) PHP and Javascript.

6) I like coding. Sometimes it helps accomplish administrative tasks, or to modify open source code to do what we want, or create bespoke internal applications.

7) Only when I'm working on producing publicity material (newsletters, booklets...) I become an IT user of the network I otherwise maintain & support
