Mind you, to an IE user, Firefox would also seem to load quickly

Neither would I. The point was merely that to an IE user, Konqueror might well seem zippy. <insert shrugging smiley>

No, I haven't tried it, but even if I had, I wouldn't use a part of Windows as a standard for benchmarking

Have you tried IE8 lately? It's almost unbelievably slow in my Windows7 VM, which isn't down to it being a VM as Firefox, Chrome and Opera perform just fine.

I'm a KDE fan, but there's no way I'd describe Konqueror as fast, Chromium is so much quicker, especially on lower powered hardware or with lots of tabs.

No wonder Konqueror is soooooo fast.

Did anyone read the story of the chap that broke the X Box security chip? Not sure how it would affect anyone but it was interesting that a man would spend so much time on what had to amount to an hobby.

I sometimes get an advert on the homepage but the rest of the website is clear.

Now it's GoogleAds: block the original image from the ad-server and you'll get some GoogleAds instead. And these are not images from a server, but inserted scripts, which make me quite anxious...

Future, do something about it and if you don't, loose business: mine! (and probably others too) I've already payed for my subscribtion, so I expect an ad-free site to surf around. A bit of your own ads I can live with, but this is waaaaayyy over the top...

Our company launched a new travel insurance product for people going abroad for medical treatment. Ever since then dilbert.com has been displaying quite a lot of breast enlargement adverts on it's site. *sigh*
