THANK YOU nelz! It was under /opt - I found the launcher at /opt/trinity/bin/quanta. I have created a launcher and am on my way.

Right-click it in Synaptic and select properties. There's you'll find a list of the files it installed, you should be able to work out how to start it from there. If it installed a .desktop file, that will contain details of the command to run and the menu category it should appear under.

I am running Linux Mint 13 MATE (32-bit) and it is great. However, I am very keen to run an old KDE3 app (Quanta Plus) which is no longer available in the Ubuntu Precise repos.

My aim has been to add this app and its dependencies using the Trinity Desktop Environment repos.

So, I added the Trinity repos and signing key to my apt sources using the instructions for Precise at http://www.trinitydesktop.org/wiki/bin/view/Documentation/UbuntuBinaryInstallation.

I reloaded Synaptic - and Quanta-trinity appears amongst the uninstalled apps. Hooray! I mark it for installation, and all seems to go well. Synaptic now tells me it is installed.

But how do I launch it? It doesn't appear in the Mint menu. I have looked for it in usr/bin but cannot see it. I have attempted to launch it from the terminal using a variety of likely commands, but nothing happens. I'm baffled.

Any suggestions welcome! Thanks in anticipation.
