Blu-Ray drives work fine with Linux, they appear as generic optical drives just like a CD or DVD drive. The error you are seeing is nothing to do with the fact that the drive is Blu-Ray.

How many optical drives do you have on your system?

Have you tried the disc on a different computer?

When I try to load from any LXF DVD using a Blu-Ray drive, the first menu loads OK, then, after making any choice, I receive "(initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system".

The LXF menu-system handles Blu-Ray OK,I guess that Linux doesn't ? Do I need to downgrade my drive to CD/DVD to use LInux? Or are changes planned to Linux to solve this?
