Am I? I thought I'd been using K/X/Ubuntu 10.04 since it came out. Still, zypper is the CLI tool for in stalling packages on openSUSE. As in
zypper install package1 package2
and so on.
Using zypper search is quite as good as apt-cache search for finding out the relevant correct package names.

openSUSE uses YaST for package installation.

Not sure myself I'm a fedora user but is there not a software installer app in OpenSUSE use it to install the following

Code:

- gcc-c++
- git
- cmake
- kdebase-workspace-dev
- libxrender-dev
- libx11-dev

the command quoted is for Debian based distros which used .deb's not .rpm's

So I installed git and got a lot further, but I still don't think it worked. I don't know if I have these. I am on OpenSUSE now, and don't know how to translate the command (or if I need to)

sudo apt-get install build-essential cmake kdelibs5-dev kdebase-workspace-dev libxrender-dev libx11-dev subversion

Of course, I am still unsure of exactly how to use it...

Do you have git installed as well as build-essentials as you are building it from the source code that git will download

So, I've been trying to install "oxygen-transparent" for KDE. I get this error:
