It also tells you why paying exorbitant salaries to company directors and civil servants and bonuses to bankers is a complete waste of money and the underlying cause of the financial mess the country is in.
>>

Not to worry though ... And yes, a person should be paid what there worth, of course. But i tend to think that to many people carry a form of 'father knows best' type of belief with regard to the upper executive bunch. Which is often consciously exploited on their part. And, as the responsibility they carry is extensive , and the rewards lucrative, so to should the penalties for its' abuse.

But, how to measure 'worth' ... the share price can't be it as it's an ultimately flawed benchmark. So ... certainly not an easy one to solve at all ... (scratch_head.png)

Others, mostly the older series of modems out there, are just modems which require software installed from the CD to operate.

I am using a Huawei E156G.

I have no trace of Windows on my machine.

Using Ubuntu (10.04) Netbook Edition.

So far as i am aware, please fell free to correct me, the flip occurs

at instillation.

At plug-in, the device is configured as a standard USB memory stick.

It automatically initiates.

Once it has installed itself,

it is then seen as two separate spaces by Disc Utility:

1) An ordinary USB area.

2) As a Virtual CD Drive.

I presume the Virtual CD has replaced the real CD in this process.

So far as i can tell, this initialisation is independent of whatever OS might be available.

It judge that initialisation is managed at the BIOS level, since each of the two separate spaces appear on the BIOS boot choice menu, before the OS is invoked.
Possibly the the industry could launch a serious research initiative on whats wrong with the eco discs. And cap the costs of the investigation to no more than $50 million, inclusive with magazine advertising etc ...
And where are they going to dump all the old drives ?.
Yes, I think that's what happened. But I had tried to 'Completely Uninstall' MySQL before, and still couldn't get it to ask me for a password.

Tonight, I did a 'Complete Uninstall' on mysql-server, mysql-server-5.1, mysql-server-core-5.1, and mysql-common, then rebooted, then reinstalled them -- and that worked!

Thanks for the advice guys! javascript:emoticon('')
Hmmm, well, if e-ink does not work with backlights (kind of obvious, actually, considering what it is ) this does sound like my kind of device!

I'm hoping that image only PDFs (scanned books; really just an image a page) will be fine (though I'd appreciate it if you could confirm that)

So, what model is it and where can I get one? All the ones I've seen seem to be around the £230 mark

Thanks.

A renewal is a follow-up to the running sub-period: if you renew after 10 issues in a one yr sub, a one yr renewal will automatically include another 13 issues, so 16 issues left in total.

I wasn't saying sudo requires PAM, just that use of both sudoers *and* PAM might be another way of achieving your goals, but a very complex one and probably not advisable.

ie. removing the root authentication requirement or adding their group for certain services *may* remove the need to give root access at all.

Now I'm no PAM guru, and I'd be fairly sure you'd run into all sorts of problems, which is why I kinda advised against it.
That depends on whether you want to create a USB startup disk (a live CD on a USB stick) or do a standard hard disk install, but to a USB disk. In most cases you want the former.

Something to do with the set file permissions for that particular file or folder?
